Then there was always the teacher’s pet who of course said they wanted to be a teacher (typical). Well college is a lot like kindergarten. Your advisor asks you,” what do you want to do with your life after college”, but this time the answers don’t come as easily.
My first thought of what I would do, as a career would be something far away from a high school. This was all true till my junior year of high school. I found my passion to teach. I found my passion three hours away from my high school on a fall weekend. I had an amazing opportunity to service as a camp counselor at an FFA camp.

I began college as a freshman at Central Michigan University thinking I was going to become an elementary teacher. I knew I wanted to make an impact on peoples lives but after my first week of classes, I remember telling myself becoming a teacher is not how I wanted to do it. I went to my counselor and added a social work course to my schedule. I had finally found courses I enjoyed taking and academically excelled in.
