Is animal testing a good thing for us to be doing? One good thing that comes from animal testing is as the world evolves the medicine also evolves with it. This testing helps us find new curses. Here is some reasons why it has its down fall. The animals that go through these testing are killed and hold in cavity. We should not be testing on animals at all. There are other ways to test new products and the evolution in the medicine industry. We should protect the wildlife rather than test on them. First, each year more than 100 million animals are killed in U.S laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Before their deaths,some are forced to inhale toxic fumes, others are immobilized in restraint devices for hours. Studies have shown half of the products tested on these animals do not have the same outcome when a human tries it out. As laboratories test on these animals if not affected they do not disturb them out to the public. The animals die due to the fact they injected them with a virus or an infection and can not find the cure for it. Sometimes these injections are too strong for the animals to take and die with in seconds after the shot. Third, animal testing is very expensive. Some of our taxes money goes to these testing. It is becoming an issue. It generally costs an enormous amount of money about 1.5 million. Just testing on rats comes out to be 50 thousand dollars year (www.peta.com). The other money goes to food, housing,caring for and treating with drugs or a similar experimental substance. When that money should be used towards other things like building homeless shelters helping the people in need not in torturing
