Over one hundred million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and tortured in the United States labs every year. Animals all around the world are being used and abused every single day. Without animals, humans would not be able to live. People have lived remarkably long through generations, this is because they have had animals to feed on, get produce from and plenty more. Instead of humans taking care of these poor animals, they strip them from their homes and take them in for testing. Animals are beneficial to humans and should not be taken for granted. Animal testing should not be put to use because of how many animals have died, some animal testing did not help at all, and there are alternatives to animal testing.
The number of pets that die from animal testing every year is uncanny. ¨Each year, more than 100 million animals—including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds—are killed in U.S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing.¨ (Collins, 2017) These animals are tormented right before they die.
