Throughout history, scientists have discovered life-saving treatments for thousands of diseases. Many different methods have been used to find the treatments, yet animal testing has probably been the most successful and efficient method used throughout the past. Considering, that is only one of the reasons that people believe that animal testing should continue to take a large role in modern health studies. Consequently, law regulated animal testing should continue to be practiced, as it is much more effective than clinical research, it prevents animals from being tortured during testing, and to develop a new field of health study would be extremely expensive.

To illustrate, animal testing can be seen as much more effective than other types of clinical research. Animal research has contributed to thousands of new health discoveries in our lives, and “Despite claims by animal rights activists, it is undeniable that animal-based research has contributed to significant improvement in the length and quality of our lives.” (Hunnicut). One reason that animal testing is so effective is because of the several similarities between a human body and an animal …show more content…

After all, there is still a lot of discovery and research that scientists need to perform, specifically in the animal testing field. As a matter of fact, “Thanks in large part to animal-based research, there is a new molecular and genetic understanding of tumor biology.” (Hunnicut). Considering this, why try to discover a new medical field if scientists have possibly only scratched the surface of most of our current medical study fields? Moreover, it is important to consider how much money it would cost to try to develop a brand new field of health study. Under those circumstances, it doesn’t make sense to try to develop a new health study if there is still a lot we can learn from what we currently
