I walked a mile in Atticus Finch’s shoes and I can tell how he feels after the trial. I think he feels that he could have done better or worked harder to keep Tom Robinson out of jail or from being killed. Atticus felt disappointed because it seemed like everybody in the community turned their backs on him. Another way he felt is discouraged because anything he did or tried did not help Tom Robinson whatsoever. The last way he felt was Helpless because the community stood in his way when all he did was trying to help someone who was innocent. In the paragraphs to come I will give you three reasons why I think this. I know that Atticus felt disappointed in three different ways and here is why. One way he was disappointed was he could not keep Tom Robinson from going to jail and that he could not change people's minds on being racist. Another way he feels disappointed was, he does all of the dirty work for the whole community while they are just on standby, waiting for the jobs to get done. The final reason why he felt disappointed was, that he felt like he let the black community down. Including Tom Robinson's family and even his own. I know three reasons, because he showed why after the court decision. The first one is, that Atticus felt like he could not accomplish the things he needed to move on to the next thing in his life. The second one is, that Atticus worked very hard to prove that Tom Robinson was not guilty and innocent. Even though he did prove a point that Tom was not guilty and the only reason why he is going to jail is because of him being black.
