After doing research censorship of television comes in all forms. Viewers have no control over what they see and hear on television, so basically they also don't know if whether what they're learning is true or not. A lot of young minds are becoming influenced by the amount of uncensored things that they see and hear. It is well understood that censors are really only placed on news stories and other important topics that people actually need to know about versus what's not really important; but yet they're being forced to pay attention to what should not be a main focus at all. Not all censorship is good; but not all censorship is bad either. It’s actually good to have some form censorship around the world because it helps limit the amount of violence, criminal activity, foul language, and the offensive content that would be put out everywhere for everyone to see and hear. Censorship of criminal activity, foul language, offensive content, and violent material help prevent children's minds from becoming corrupt. Scenes where actors and actresses are performing dangerous activities such as racing cars, grand theft auto, consuming alcohol, using drugs and guns influence people to copy them. Most of the time it’s young children that are the main ones to get the idea to copy such scenes with violence only because they see the actors doing it so they think it's okay. This calls for the discussion about what can and cannot be said. This is where the First Amendment comes in. Censorship and the First Amendment are seen as two sides of the same thing when discussing the material that's being censored because it's considered as taking away freedom of speech, or the right to express an opinion without any restraint. Censorship is defined as, “the suppression of speech”. According to the U.S Constitution’s First Amendment, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances” (“First Amendment – U.S. Constitution”).
