In the book, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the whole utopia is taken over by a mass media where books are burnt if caught in your possession, they focused on entertainment, and violence is no big deal. Without knowledge, that whole utopia is madness.

Fahrenheit 451 takes place in a future society where they ban possession of books and reading and the job of firemen is to burn all books from people’s homes using the temperature of 451; the temperature that papers burn. In this society, books are considered evil because they make people question and think hence why firemen are there to burn books. Another reason why books are banned is because minority groups were offended by certain types of literature. Once again, this shows that the society can be way too lenient. Furthermore, lots of people tend to die wether it is on accident or purpose. For example, The old woman burns herself to death, Clarisse dies from a hit and run, Montag killed Beatty with the flamethrower, Mechanical Dog killed an innocent person, etc. Also, Mildred attempted suicide using her sleeping pills yet no one ever seemed to have much of a care about it. Clearly, death for them was an everyday thing so it wasn’t anything to grieve or be upset over.

All in all, Fahrenheit 452 shows a theme of censorship where the whole utopia is taken over by a mass media where books are burnt if
