first-year students more than likely is not going to be the same for a senior. If a student is struggling to answer a question, start to ask them questions that are basic to build up their knowledge to where you want it to be. Asking questions essential in class but make sure you are using other means of teaching to help students with learning. In the education arena, it is advice you give to a student based on the work they provide to you. Once a student sees the results of their work relatively it is good or bad will determine how well they need to work harder the next go around. They may have done well the first time doing the work however they may want to improve in specific areas to make their work stronger, the feedback they receive will help them to determine this. If a student didn’t do so well, this will be a time for them to reach out to the teacher to see if they could redo the assignment or to know how to correct their mistakes the next time.

If a student earns a “B” on an assignment, it is not advisable to come back and say, “good job but next time aim for an A.” You never know how hard the student worked just to get the grade that they did. Sarcasm should never be in the classroom.
As teachers, you are there to uplift not tear down students. Give feedback as soon as possible. From time to time if a student never gets praise regarding their work, this may cause them never to want to work hard in the future. If a student receives feedback immediately, this will help them to maintain the grade that they currently have if it’s an excellent grade. Make sure that students understand the feedback that you are providing to them.
Making feedback clear will aid in their learning so that they will not repeat the same errors. Make sure that feedback is straight to the point. There is no need to place students on the spot to make them blush or feel like “why is the teacher going on and on about their performance.” Corrective feedback is providing negative feedback in a way to where the student understands what to do in a positive tone. The frequency of feedback seems to have never been on a high level no matter what grade level the student
