Football remains the most iconic sport in America after one-hundred years. People rave at the action and hard hitting in football. Football has become the sport that every kid wants to play once old enough to play. Though football is the most popular sport in America, three traits make it too dangerous. First, the equipment is too protective. This protective equipment allows modern day football players to use helmets, facemasks, and shoulder pads as weapons to inflict hard hits on opposing players. Next, serious injuries make football a dangerous or even deadly sport. Players suffer lifelong injuries involving the brain, bone, ligaments, and muscle.
