Gun control is not about guns. It's about control. In the United States, many young children and adults are being intentionally and unintentionally killed by guns, and having the access to them. In the United States, the lack of gun control is a very prominent issue. In addition, most of the world is divided on this issue. Young children fear for their lives every day going to school that that day will be their last. School is about learning and education, not the worry of being shot to death. Apart from school shootings, many people, mostly teenagers, have the access to guns, increasing the number of deaths by suicide. Being able to pick up and work a gun should not be so easy. In F. Well, beginning in the late 1800s, the idea of making a gun that only authorized users can use has still been thought about. These are called personalized guns, a type of gun that requires a chip, code, or fingerprint that can only be used by the person who owns the gun. There are several technologies available for personalized guns. One example of a type of personalized gun is magnetic encoding. According to an article from Issues in Science and Technology, "Magna-Trigger[TM] markets a ring that contains a magnet, which, when properly aligned with a magnet installed in the grip of the gun, physically moves a lever in the grip of the firearm, allowing the gun to fire" (Issues in Science and Technology Vol. 14, Issue 4). Some people believe this technology is not ideal because you have to install it on the gun yourself, which is not optimal. People also believe you could lose the magnet ring to the gun, preventing you from using the firearm. The most modern form of personalized gun technology is fingerprint identification. This eliminates the need to wear a ring or even a bracelet. Several gun manufacturers have started to advertise or think of using fingerprint technology. As you can see, with personalized guns, the lack of intentional crime and suicide would decrease. Criminals would not be able to operate stolen guns, and children would not be able to operate a parent or family member's gun.
