The book Thirteen Reasons Why is a very popular and mysterious novel by Jay Asher. This book is about a boy named Clay Jensen and he gets a surprise at his front door one day. The surprise is tape of a girl who committed suicide named Hannah Backer. “I take the package into the kitchen and set it on the counter, inside the package is a rolled-up tube of bubble wrapper and with audiotapes inside that” (Asher 1). In this paper I am going to be questioning why Hannah committed suicide, predict what is going to be on the next tape and visualize clays emotions throughout each tape.
In this paragraph I am going to be questioning why Hannah committed suicide. Some reasons why I think she committed suicide is because she got bullied by several people. One person she got bullied and who she talks about in one of her tapes is Justin Foley. When Clay hits play on Hannah’s first tape he is shocked. Hannah said on her first tape the reason why she has people on their was because those were the people who were involved with her death. “ I m about to tell you the story of my life. More specifically, why my life ended. And if you’re listening to those tapes, you’re the reason why” (Asher 7). Clay was chaos because he barley knew her. With Hannah and Alex’s situation, Clay remembers the list that Alex wrote about. With Justin’s spreading rumors, Clay told him to stop and called him an idiot. For each tape Hannah gives clues on different places that were special. One time Hannah describes the hot chocolate sessions with her friend when they were planning Tyler’s revenge. After he listened to that tape he went to the same coffee shop and got exactly what she got to see what she saw. Those were some things I visualize about
