Chapters 1-19 In chapter one at Columbine High School, the principal Frank DeAngelis, tells all of his students to be careful, not only because it is a weekend but also because it is prom weekend. Everyone knows that the weekend of prom can be fun but yet dangerous at the same time. In chapter two, Eric Harris, which is a very important person at this school, and in the book, usually had no problems at all getting dates, but this time said otherwise. He was becoming desperate for a date for the weekend activity.
Often times in news reporting, data initially gathered can be found to be misleading or inaccurate due to the lack of the reporter's knowledge. This held true in the event of the school shooting that took place on the campus of Columbine high school in Littleton, Colorado on April 20th, 1999 in behalf of the frantic chaos. Dave Cullen gathers a wide variety of data on the myths, killers, and victims regarding the school shooting in order to construct a very precise report. Taking ten years to construct the story of Columbine was far from complicated when it came to figuring it out.
Columbine by Dave Cullen analyzes the use of journals and specific language to advance the idea that the massacre that happened on April 20, 1999 was the planned and executed by two boys with horrific intentions. Cullen writes with the intention to share the the somber story, while allowing the readers to understand Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold's mental status and prove how the killers felt rather leaving room for assumptions. Cullen emphasis the importance of journals to further the idea that the events of Columbine were executed by two boys with terrible intentions. By quoting the killers journals, the readers are able to know exactly how the kellers felt.
What do you thing about our generation? Do you think men are lazy? Do you think women have more support from their parents and schools? It is true that more women are graduating in the college. There are so many questions come up in our mind when we hear that more women are graduating in the college.
In the book Renegades by Marissa Meyer, many things happen throughout the book that many will find interesting. This story follows two main characters, Adrian Everhart and Nova Artino/Mclain. In this world, there are these people who are prodigies with superpowers that they either inherit or are born with. There is also a Council that is made of the best superheroes or Renegades, all around the city that this book takes place in and the son of the top two Council members is Adrian Everhart with their leadership skills and the ability to make whatever he draws come to life. There are also villains in this world of heroes called the Anarchists and within these villains is the niece of the formerly ruler of Gatlon City during the Age of Anarchy.
On September 3, 2013, a sophomore named Bart Palosz committed suicide in Greenwich, Connecticut. Nina Golgowski discussed this in her article, “Connecticut Teen Who Committed Suicide.” Palosz’s story is very similar to Tyler Long’s, a boy who committed suicide in 2007. Tyler Long’s story was told by director Lee Hirsch in the movie Bully. Palosz and Long were treated horribly both verbally and physically by classmates, and nothing was done by their schools to help them.
Do you think your activities online are being monitored. Well some schools are starting to monitor all of their student’s online activities, even the things they do away from school. In “At Some Schools, ‘Big Brother’ is Watching”, by Kelly Wallace, it talks about some schools monitoring systems for their all of their students online activities and posts. Kelly Wallace thinks that students have a right to privacy, but when their life is in danger, the school has a right to step in. I agree with Kelly, in that if someone sees that a student is talking about suicide, they can tell somebody, and the school should be able to investigate.

People become more willing to accept rumors when they simplify a situation that they consider threatening; therefore, rumors are equally likely to be believed by anyone that considers a rumor to be an acceptable explanation to a threatening

In the United States, every year there are around 2,000 gang-related homicides and in the realistic fiction novel, The Outsiders, by S.E Hinton, it explores the issues of gang violence, and teenagers in gangs. Around 40% of all members in gangs are teenagers, who are getting involved in some dangerous things very early in life. In the novel The Outsiders, the “Greasers” which is a gang of all teenagers, fight other gangs and commit serious crimes such as murder. We as a society need to pinpoint why teenagers join gangs and stop them beforehand. We also need to help people get out of gangs if they are already in one.
In Gwendolyn Brooks’ “We Real Cool”, Brooks conveys an arrogant, mocking tone embodied by the speaker(s), a group of teenagers in the 1950’s. Although it is not often though of a popular place for teenagers, a pool hall was often the popular place for young people in the 1950’s. The teenagers in “We Real Cool” “[leave] school” (line 2) to play pool and cause trouble around town. They show contempt for authority and test their boundaries, often “sing[ing] sin” (line 5), or bragging about their antics. Thinking themselves invincible, the teenagers “strike straight” (line 4) fighting and playing pool without considering the possible consequences.
The book the Duff” is one of the realist books about teens in High school ever. In the book seventeen year old Bianca is not the prettiest girl in the world but she has a very good group of friends. Bianca is being bullied by the it girl named Madison. Madison is rude to Bianca and calls her the duff. The duff means designated ugly fat friend.
In this book, “Perks of Being a Wallflower”, by Stephen Chbosky, The book is about a boy named Charlie and his high school experience. Throughout this book Charlie is introduced to many new things, experiences and ideas. An example of one of these things would be how Charlie makes friends with two upperclassmen after his friend commits suicide. With these two friends, Sam and Patty, Charlie tries many new things such as alcohol, and marijuana. Charlie also develops a mild addiction to cigarettes.

It has been said that Johannes’ father Heinrich Kepler left the family when Johannes was just 5 years old, and eventually died during the eighty years war in the Netherlands.

Connecting with Chris since he hunts animals and shoots guns, evaluating the death of fellow SEAL Marc Lee, and visualizing the city of Ramadi is simple since the author used great detail in the book American Sniper.
