When I first read Chapter Ten of “After the Fact”, by James West Davidson and Mark Hamilton Lytle, I was shocked at the methods meat factories use in preparing their products. I was especially shocked seeing as now; we have so many food regulations that most people don’t think twice about the food that is going in their bodies. I am now thinking, do these things still appear in our lives today? It was nice to know that Theodore Roosevelt took action in an attempt to fix these major problems. He became aware of the poor conditions of the meat industry through the book “The Jungle” by Upton Sinclair.

My ultimate goal is to become a dental hygienist. This fall coming up, I will attend Lenoir Community College to complete some of the prerequisites. Then I plan to enter the dental program at Wayne Community College by the next fall. When I gain acceptance in the Dental program I will work towards obtaining a certificate for dental assistant.
Beowulf’s Vengeance It is a fair night in Geatland, and Beowulf is celebrating his victory over Grendel's Mother in the mead hall Higlac built for his nephew. When we were all younger, most of us had an idea of what we wanted to be when we grew up. Whether it was a firefighter or president, we all had our future planned out. But once we got older and entered high school, plans changed. For me personally, I changed my mind a couple of times before I made a decision about what I wanted to do with my life. I decided that I wanted to go to Parkland College and get my degree in Dental Hygiene.

Although I going to strive to become an Equine dentist, sometimes things get in the way of life and you need to re-route yourself. If life just so happens to get in my way and interfere with me becoming an Equine dentist i have two backup careers. My first one is being a Horse breeder, and my second one is being a Vet tech. I chose theses two careers as my backup plan because most of the college prerequisites and other course work are the same, and because it still has my passion in it, animals. The first career I am going to talk about is Vet tech.

Advanced Dental Technology Maintains Oral Health People are struggling to maintain their oral health by not sufficiently and regularly brushing or flossing well enough. Now, if people do not care about or try to at least maintain their oral health then the dental industry could shut down. The reason being, that people do not care enough or do not have enough money to go to dental practices to get an oral checkup, results in having bad oral care. Not long after, people will have to deal with oral diseases and difficulties if they do not get accustomed to taking better care of the inside of their mouths and get the assistance that they need.
