Why Is It Important To Have Dress Codes In Schools

Dress code All around the United States there are many schools that have a certain dress code in which it affects students' learning environment. Schools are too strict with their dress codes as sometimes they ask for too much from both parents and students . This has all caused schools and students to be against it as it is too strict, school staff sometimes takes it too far with what they do to people who are violating dress codes. In these generations everything that happens out in the public usually gets posted online in which a lot of parents also go to as they try to reach out for help on discrimination situations or in situations that just seem ridiculous. “ A five year old Native American boy was sent home because of dress code violation because he wore his hair in a long braid according to tribal religious code, which states hair must not be cut except in mourning”(Dress code…section 3). This set the wrong expectations for schools world wide as it made it seem like schools don’t respect students' religions as they are basically being denied education just for wearing their hair in a braid because of their religion. Another bad thing about having dress codes in a school or company is that when one goes out whether it is to the store, church or whatever they are doing out of the school or company and they are in uniform and they are doing something that they’re not supposed to be doing it sets a bad image on the school or company as they are representing them with the uniform they have on. This is another issue because people can not go out and do what they want, even though they are probably not supposed to be doing those things its an issue because what they do reflects on everyone that also is wearing that same uniform. As this might be a safety protocol to be able to tell the difference between a visitor and a student it also better to not have uniforms with the school or company name on it as they could be getting trashed for what other people are doing while in
