The way people live in the world today is changing, but some do not realize this fact. The United States is the biggest melting pot in the world; this causes other cultures to blend and stand out more than the ones that were originally there. The most common culture that is beginning to stand above others is the Hispanic culture, therefore, it is important for children and adults to learn Spanish.
To begin with, Spanish is a language that is known almost worldwide. The United States constantly has Hispanic immigrants moving into the country. With this being the case, Spanish is becoming a common language used alongside the, as of right now, dominant language of English. Forty percent of the United States’ immigrants are Hispanic. French and Italian are the languages close in dialect to Spanish. These three languages have similar words that have the same meaning. Nearly all Indo-European languages have some characteristics such as gender and extensive conjugation that people may see Spanish. Spanish is also the most available foreign speaking class offered in schools. Scientists from Lund University in Sweden have cases that proves studying and practicing Spanish can improve the brain's overall performance. When learning a different language it increases the size of a person’s cerebral cortex. Nearly all of the cases show improved memory, visual processing, and planning. Therefore, learning a simple language such as Spanish can increase a person’s brain power and their exam scores. The reasons some people do not agree with learning Spanish can be anything. Older people are less likely to attempt to learn Spanish due to their age. If a person did not take a Spanish course in high school they believe the cost to pay for a tutor or some other form of lessons could be expensive. The last main reason is that people do not think they will be traveling to a Spanish speaking country, therefore, no reason to learn
