American Revolution Leader: James Madison

“If men were angels, no government would be necessary,” stated James Madison. James Madison was the fourth president of the United States of America and considered a Founding Father of America because he was an author of the first drafts of the Constitution. Madison along with Thomas Jefferson established the Jeffersonian-Republican party. James Madison played a key role in the American Revolution because while he recognized the need for government, he helped shape the Constitution which protected individual rights.

feel the need to flaunt his intelligence. He was a reserved and composed leader. Madison was a good listener and wrote detailed notes during the Constitutional Convention which were later used to help write the final drafts of the Constitution. These attributes and characteristics made Madison a good role model because although he was a very reserved man, he was an effective and respected leader.

Some of James Madison’s accomplishments include representing a successful political party, writing the Federalist Papers, playing a major role in the creation of the United States Constitution and serving as the fourth president of America. The Federalist Papers were a series of essays written by Madison and other leaders asking for support of the ratification of the Constitution. Madison’s persuasive writings contributed to the ratification of the Constitution. James Madison, along with Thomas Jefferson, represented the Jeffersonian-Republican party. This party was in favor of more education, less national government, and less federal spending. This party ended up being successful with Thomas Jefferson becoming president in 1801 and James Madison becoming his successor. These accomplishments helped shape America into the country it is
