Many events in history show the quote is true. It even plays a role in the modern world, many times in the news. First off, the quote has a very clear meaning, Do not let your enemy decide what happens to you, you decide what happens. The United States of America waited until an Axis Power made a move to bring them into the fight and it cost us the lives of many great Americans in Pearl Harbor. If we took the fight to Japan first, the outcome would’ve have been much better for the Allied Forces.
