Although there are many Greek mythical characters , the character that interest me the most is Pandora. It could have been because she was the first woman human ever created, or maybe what her curiosity caused. according to mythology, this character is the cause for all the evil on earth. The myth behind this character is pretty interesting and it also includes a little bit of romance.

As I mentioned above, in the Greek mythology, Pandora was the first created woman. This was done by two gods, Hephaestus and Athena with instructions of the god Zeus. The reason why Zeus wanted a mortal of stunning beauty on earth was to punish man. So, Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create Pandora and he did by using earth and water. Aphrodite gave her Apollo music, beauty, Hermes persuasion, and so on. For this same reason is why her name means "all-gifted".

The myth begins when Prometheus decides to steal fire from heaven. Zeus being angry at him decided to have made a beautiful woman on earth to punish the men. Zeus, gave Pandora as a gift to Epimetheus, Prometheus' brother. Prometheus had told his brother to deny every gift that came from Zeus but the myth says, Pandora was too beautiful so, he let her stay at his house. Eventually, Pandora and Epimetheus got married and Zeus gave Pandora a jar as a gift but forbidden her from opening it. …show more content…

According to Hesiod the story of Pandora comes with the moral that there is no escape from God’s will. Another moral of the Pandora's Box myth is that one disrespects the gods at one's own peril. Through Pandora's Box, Zeus punishes Prometheus' disrespect. The last moral could be that curiosity overcoming good sense can have devastating consequences.
