The discovery of Richard III’s remains was a tremendously important discovery because it potentially rewrote a part history. Science and technology helped identify the remains as Richard III and what happened to him. The historians and archeologist pin pointed the possible location of the body and worked vigorously to find it under the parking lot. The professionals were not the only important people, in fact, the interested non-professional enthusiasts such as Philippa kept an open mind and were determined to find the truth. Compared to Dr. Bond’s articles, the non-historians in the Richard III video were a lot more involved and weren’t as much learning about the subject as much as helping the historians. Michael Ibsen is a 17th generation nephew of Richard III. His cooperation with the research team enabled the genetic proof that the bones were Richard III. The media also fueled curiosity and support for the research team by airing the information about the project. Lastly, Philippa had a determined attitude and never gave up on the bones being Richard III. She tested the limits that the professional wouldn’t have for example, Leon Hunt, an archeologist from the film said, “I thought it was completely bonkers, one of the things you don’t do in archelogy is you don’t go looking for a specific thing because there’s a chance you will never find it, and you don’t go looking for famous people”. The video is more informative not trying to persuade someone one way or the other about a particular subject. Even though, Philippa has strong feelings about Richard being a good king the video is based more on the event of finding the body than presenting information about why he was a good king. On the other hand, In Dr. Bond’s articles, she is trying to both inform and persuade people away from the view that all sculptures were white. Also, in the “Richard III” video the non-historians who were helping have a much more hands on experience helping the historians, while Dr. Bond’s articles are solemnly her reaching out to non-historians trying to give them information and change their
