Why Is Shakespeare Still Relevant Today

Did you know that Shakespeare is considered the world's greatest dramatist! Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and actor. He wrote Romeo and Juliet, hamlet, twelfth night and many other plays. Twelfth night is about this entanglement of love for each other. It's presented by the protagonist viola who dresses up as a boy to work under a noble duke named Orsino. A couple later she then falls in love with him knowing that he loves Olivia dearly. Olivia also a noble doesn't like Orsino back but falls in love with Cesario instead (which is Viola’s undercover name). Even though Shakespeare is famous for his work, people argue if his works are still relevant or not. Shakespeare's works are still relevant today because the themes in his masterpieces can be seen in our normal lives and also increases brain energy, making us smarter. The way Shakespeare works are made are different from today. Today we use modern language back then we used old English. According to scientist, psychologists and English academics at liverpool university, it was found that reading unfamiliar words triggers “reappraisal organism” causing them to reflect and rethink on what they have heard. By this I mean that you can compare yourself to the actors you're reading/seeing. You know what their feeling, you can relate to them. You'd see some scenarios in Shakespeare's plays that resemble what you see now and then. For example in twelfth night love was a main theme, you see love everywhere. In addition Shakespeare's work is like an example, If I were to write a play I'd definitely use Shakespeare's work as a primary example. Of course I wouldn't copy it but I'd definitely want to have the feelings Shakespeare's play had, the suspense to know what happens
