Gunnar Olson 7/12/17 Lincoln’s second inaugural address Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural address was anchored in the president’s awareness of the Union citizens’ growing anxiety about the grave causes and effects of the then Civil war conflict. In order to compel Union citizens to stay motivated towards this restoration of the Union by excusing Confederate insurgents and seeing through the necessary war, Lincoln transitions between inclusive pronouns to binary diction to capture conflicting and shared beliefs among Americans, as well as allusions to God’s religion to portray the war as repayment for the act of slavery. In his Second Inaugural Address, Abraham Lincoln surprised his audience by not giving a speech regarding politics, but instead using harsh and then encouraging diction and biblical allusions to inspire Americans and show them that they need to continue to work for peace.
Ask Squidward, he'll vouch for me. [Mr. Krabs and Squidward quickly walk away from SpongeBob. Squidward looks at Mr. Krabs.] Squidward: [deep breath]
Everyone knows that Spongebob Squarepants is a kind, loving animated character and considered a “good guy.” Unlike, Plankton the small, evil sea creature that is considered a “bad guy” because he always tries to bring down the “Krusty Krab” just to steal the “Krabby Patty Formula.” Another thing is that, Spongebob is this guy that works for Mr.Krab’s burger restaurant but, at the same time he goes to school, hangs out with his friend Patrick, and owns a pet snail. On the other hand, Plankton in a daily basis comes up with ways to bring down the “Krusty Krab” and has a computer wife but, he never wins. With this in mind, in a way both characters can actually be pretty similar because, they both have a goal that they are trying to achieve at
SpongeBob SquarePants has numerous amounts of adult humor. In season two there was an episode titled “Sailor Mouth”, which is self explanatory. Before leaving from work, Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob that he has to take out of the trash. On the dumpster Spongebob begins to read aloud what's written, “Krabs is a ****”, instead of him actually saying the word, the word was bleeped out by oceanic noises. Patrick approaches the dumpster; SpongeBob asks Patrick what the word means and he replies, “That's one of those sentence enhancers...

In one specific scene, SpongeBob and Patrick find themselves in trouble when they throw a spontaneous bubble party in a bar full of thugs. When the biggest and baddest ruffian sees a bubble float into the bar, he lines up the patrons in order to find the “bubble-blowing babies” because anyone who blows bubbles “ain’t a real man.” Here again, pressure to fit a specific mold is demonstrated in this film. Of course this kind of behavior/treatment of behavior is not partial to this theatrical scenario. In 1976, social psychologist Robert Brannon presented a list of rules for
4. Discussion The motivations behind the 18-25-year-old demographic watching SU are character identification, for entertainment, relaxation and comfort, the way the show deals with mature themes, minority representation, and inclusive fandom. Rice, in her study on Spongebob fandom, noted that a prominent reason behind the large adult fandom was due to character identification with the protagonist, Spongebob (2009, 1110*).
A few years ago when I was in elementary school I would watch one of America's favorite comedy shows: Family Guy. I immediately thought of it as an odd, vulgar show, yet I found it intriguing. I would always run back from school and see a new episode. It was basically the highlight of my day. All was good until one day my parents found out.

Have you ever thought about why you get your child vaccinated? In this paper, I will discuss the reasons why you should not get your child vaccinated. In my opinion, vaccinations are not as great as they sound. There have been vaccinations pulled from the market due to bad side effects. The first vaccine for smallpox was a disaster.
This exaggeration was done to draw attention to how ridiculous government safety requirements for kids can be. For example, “Defuse the ticking time-bomb known as your child 's imagination before it explodes and destroys her completely” (para. 2) is an exaggeration to demonstrate how many parents believe they must prevent their kid from being creative since they think it is so harmful. A child being imaginative should not be compared to a time bomb, which actually inflicts wounds and destruction. The preventative measures to inhibit a child’s imagination are also overdramatic. For instance, “To truly protect your children, you must go to great lengths to completely eliminate their curiosity, crush their spirit of amazement, and eradicate their childlike glee” (para. 11) overemphasizes the idea of parents who raise their child too strictly and expect their child to behave like an
