The purpose for my poster is to educate people on how sugar is affecting us and how unhealthy eating can lead to many health issues. I also want to show people how knowing what your eating can lead to a much healthier life, compared to not knowing what you’re eating. My poster accomplishes these purposes because on one side it includes an unhealthy body with the health issues that come with eating unhealthily. On the other side, is a new nutrition label leading to the healthy body because if we know how much and what kind of sugar we are eating it can improve our health greatly. For example, where I put pictures, information, color choices, highlighting and statistics. I decided to organize my poster this way because I wanted to make the new nutrition label the focus of the poster, so people could see what would happen if we were to make a change. I also decided to put the bad effects of sugar lower on the poster because it signifies that these nutrition labels are unacceptable because manufactures are trying to hide how much sugar is in their product. I also included all the different health issues that you could possible get if you continue to eat unhealthily, by doing this it can make the audience surprised or concerned for their health. This is where I used the persuasive technique, pathos, which is tapping into your audience's emotions. All the different health issues do this because many people want to live a long happy life and not have to pay a ton of medical bills. It also plays with the audience’s emotions because most people also don’t want an illness to take their life, instead most people want to die comfortably. So, using this technique will persuade the audience to make a change. Therefore, viewers looking at my poster will most likely have a realization, be surprised or concerned for their health. This will hopefully help the audience want to do something about this
