The American Dream has a different meaning from what it once was, but according to Brandon King it is still alive. His beginning question, “What is the true state of the so-called ‘American Dream’ today” (Page #610, Para. #1) appeals to his audience’s own thoughts of his or her own personal beliefs for their futures. Most people have an idea of what they want in life, and their dream may not be the rags to riches dream of yesteryear, but is uniquely theirs.
I believe that the American dream is alive, but only some US citizens and immigrants can achieve it. My American Dream consists of financial stability and a well good paying job that doesn't lower your income because of the race or ethnicity you are.
For centuries, America has been considered the land of freedom. Anyone in search of an “equal opportunity to achieve success… through hard work, determination, and initiative” could find it on the American soil (dictionary.com). That is the ever-so-envied American dream. The idea that, regardless of where one comes from, can be anything. Provided they work hard and make sacrifices.
The American Dream is it dead or alive? There are still a few people that believe the American Dream is still alive and is still achievable. Others think it is dead and is a thing of the past. Some believe the American Dream is having a successful job and being financially stable and living in a well furnished house. Some would say that is not possible to achieve the American Dream from coming from a poor upbringing.
No matter who you are or where you have come from, you have undoubtedly heard of the American Dream. The idea that no matter who you are or where you have come from, you can do whatever it is you desire in America. What was once one the main driving forces for immigrants to flock to the new world, has slowly changed over the years, but still holds its value in the eyes of those who are looking for a promising new place to live. The American dream might not hold the same awe inspiring sound that it once did, but for many generations before ours, it was a beacon of hope that helped build the foundation that the United States was built on. And still today the American dream might not be as achievable as it once was, but it is still an important symbol to the American ideology.
America is the place that immigrants from all over the world come to get a better life and better opportunities. An Immigrant's mentality towards America is anything is possible but many of their judgements change when they finally get to America. America does not provide access to the American Dream because undocumented residents do not get the same opportunities and the working class is categorized as low income, however there is still access for upper class and the people who get good opportunities for their hard work. Only certain Americans can achieve the ideal American Dream, such as the upper class. The American Dream to me is to me is the opportunities to stop struggling to get a plate on the table for you and your family to eat
The American dream at one point was what drew people to American; the right to life, liberty, and the happiness. The American dream is the hope to acquire currency, large homes, raise a middle-class family, and pursue what brings people joy in life. But in the year 2016, the American dream becomes hard to believe in. The American dream may still exist, but it is not equally accessible to all Americans. This is true because the American dream is not affordable for everyone, it is not available to everyone from different degrees of education, and race and ethnicity creates large social barriers.
America is known as “The Land of Opportunity” and it established the concept of the American Dream in the 1900’s. The fight for this dream was prevalent even before it was given a name in 1930. The founding fathers wrote this belief into the constitution with the words “All Americans are created equal and endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights. Among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” .Some Americans believe that the American Dream can still be obtained in the 21st Century with hard work and perservance ; however, a majority of the American population among race gender and class has a different point of view on what America still provides to their citizens because economic insta8bility and lack of equal opportunity.
America has been around for 238 years, providing opportunity for anyone who is willing to grab it. Has America really provided a dream or is it all a false image created by the government to lure immigrants so we can mock them? Our history shows that we haven’t provided an American dream, we provided an American nightmare. It’s all about building a future, but how are you supposed to build a future if you’re social status and race fail you?

The real question is, is the American Dream a reality, or is it just a dream? To me the American dream is making money, a supporting loving family, and having a career you love. I think that many people come to the U.S. looking for their own idea of The American Dream, but in my opinion I’m not sure how much of the american dream still exist. There is many obstacles for the dream; endless you 're born into your wildest dream. For immigrants coming from different countries grasping their dream can be very hard.

The American Dream does indeed still exist in todays society, and it is one 's job to try their hardest to succeed the values of their own American Dream. The American Dream is still alive and available to everyone today, although it is different for everyone. The American Dream is what each individual believes it to be and does not have a set definition, it is whatever the person believes it to be and it still possible for everyone. America still provides access to opportunity for everyone from the people who are born in poverty to the people that are born into wealth. While lately there has been much debate over whether the American Dream is still alive and well and many people believe that it is dead, there are considerable proof and evidence that the American Dream is developing and thriving. First of all, in the American Constitution, it states “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
There is no person telling them that they cannot work here or they cannot live here in America. Freedom is a big key to happiness, because when freedom is available the people make their own choices, and usually the choices they make are made to make themselves happy. In a place where freedom is not available it is hard to have happiness. Being free is also a great way to be happy for some people. America has always been known for its’ freedom and all of the easy ways there are to achieve happiness.
Many people have asked them self if The American dream still alive? As many ask them self this question many do say it’s still alive but many say it’s not. They have provent why The american dream is alive still. But in fact The American Dream is still alive for many Immigrants and other people that live in the United states. Many have come to this states, because they see that The American Dream Can help them better their lives.
