When most people hear the words American Dream they think success and happiness. Do you believe the American Dream is still alive? The American Dream can be defined differently with the different generations. My belief is that it depends on who you ask if the dream is still alive. When asking a Baby Boomer you will get the answer that no the dream is not alive. A Generation X has a more cynical view about the American Dream. When asking a person from Generation Z you hear that they believe that dream is still alive. Baby Boomers come from a time of civil rights movements, segregation, first television, Vietnam, and war protest. Many different major history making moments happened during this time. The morals of society were just beginning to crumble. I interviewed my grandmother about The American Dream she had to same stereotypical view perfect family in the suburbs with a few kids and have enough money to get buy and then some. She believes the American Dream was once alive but is now ending with how societies morals and views have changed.
