In this novel The GREAT GATSBY written by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is a multi award winning book about this Mysterious man named Gatsby, he is waiting for love. In this novel, a man named Gatsby met this girl named Daisy at a camp when he was at war and he fell in love with her, thus after the war he became a Wealthy figure and in result he would attempt to seduce her with money and catch her attention for love. However in this position The Great Gatsby is deserving of his title of the Great since throughout the book he's done very good deeds and is very generous with his money to other people. However, not only that he's also very charming and knows the way of being a gentleman. In his youthful days he was trained under an old guy named Dan Cody who taught Gatsby on how to become better overall as a person, inside and out. Though Some may argue that Gatsby is not great because of his criminal ways of getting wealthy and the way he did, it may not seem that Gatsby did not get his money the honest way he really got it by Bootlegging Alcohol. However, this is incorrect because it's not like he was totally terrible; he did serve the military, and got a medal of heroism. More on showing how Gatsby was as a person, but as an example in the real world if someone got rich by getting rich on bootlegging, nobody will think of that person as a Great, more so just a fraud and not deserving of anything the main point is that one bad action of a person can easily get overshadowed by more good deeds done. You cannot assume a person is terrible based on one action, he was doing it to survive. There were many who did bootlegging in order to survive and not struggle , no one says anything about that because Gatsby is the protagonist and many will judge his character based on that. If people in this present time were in the same situation many would most likely do the exact same
