Do you think that students should be required to participate in extracurricular activities? I do not think that it should be mandatory for students to participate extracurricular activities. Students are taught to make their own decisions. Extracurricular activities can also create a lot of stress on a student. Some students might not be interested in any of the extracurricular activities that the school has provided. If I am not interested in what I am doing I am most likely not going to succeed in it. I do not think that anyone would want to do something that they are not interested in. Forcing a student to do an extracurricular activity that they may not be interested in is not right. For example, forcing me to play a sport or do an activity that I do not want to do, trying my hardest is not on my radar. Some students are interested in playing video games, but the school does not provide that. Teachers, principals, and adults want us to give 100% all the time, but why give 100% if you do not care about what you are doing? Well, this is just one the reasons that there is for not making it mandatory to participate in an extracurricular activity. In conclusion, students should not be required to participate in extracurricular activities because we are taught to make our own decisions, it can create a lot of stress on students, and some students might not be interested in the extracurricular activities that the school has. Students making their own choices is essential in life. We also do not need the extra stress. Being interested in what you are doing will guarantee that you will try your best.
