Many high school students find it hard to manage their time and balance all of their activities. Many are involved with work, sports, bands, clubs, and many other activities.
This leads to students experiencing more time with delinquent peers and can lead to the onset of delinquency. This also leads to high drop out rates. When students fall behind in their work they start to see it as unimportant which leads to dropping out of school. When a student drops out the rate of delinquency is ten times higher than a juvenile who is still in school.
Some people at Webb City High School would be very angry to find out that they will no longer be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities due to their grades. The students who really want to play sports though would get into gear and get their grades up to prove that they deserve to play. What is a School without education? Pointless. Other people in the community believe that the “C rule” is not fair for the people who do not participate in any extracurricular activities because they will not be being punished.

This controversial subject has been discussed by professionals over the past few years, some argue the start times are too early for teens while others tend to disagree. High school students should have later start times because it benefits their grades, their amount of sleep, and also provides advantages for the parents and School Board. In today 's world schools spend too much money on after school sports and might get rid of them. Although many students think getting rid of after school sport is not necessary; schools save much more money now and a more percentage of students pass their classes because the schools use the money for educational purposes. Therefore, districts should get rid of after school sports because they are too expensive, students grades are dropping, and kids are not paying enough attention in class.

High School Sports Should be Funded Every year 300,000 students are participating in sports (Gould 1). The School District has been funding the athletics program, which has been benefiting many of the students’ lives for several years. The discontinuation of high school sports will cause many students to loose the health, social and educational benefits provided by participating in athletics. The School District should continue to fund sports because they benefit students.
It becomes very difficult for students who participate in sports directly after school or those who ride the bus to find time to meet with a teach to get help. If they were to stay after school the students who ride a bus would risk missing their bus which lead to a difficult situation for their parents. Many parents are working eight to five jobs or multiple jobs and can’t take an hour to pick their student up and drive them home. If a student missed the bus because they stayed after school their parent could end up losing their job because they had to leave work. A longer lunch break would allow students to go to teachers classrooms and get help during lunch so they don’t miss the bus after school.

Students who participate in outdoor activities learn skills including leadership and teamwork whereas reducing the percentage of getting involved in other harmful activities like (taking drugs, alcohol use and other health related issues).
