In the United States, and many other countries, the majority of the population tends to end their days at nine pm. While in Spain, their social lives start at around that time. Heaps of people speculate over the reason the Spaniards eat so late. While a typical time to dine is around six or seven pm, the people of Spain start to eat at around nine or ten pm. Some say they eat so late as a result of the Spaniards being so lax in their attitudes, that they just eat when it is convenient. Due to the people of Spain being in the wrong time zone, their health is not where it should be. As said in the paragraph above, they can suffer from sleep deprivation and even lack of productivity. Since they are not coinciding with the sun like they should be, they are in a constant state of being behind and their bodies have no way of catching up. Countless of the citizens of Spain take naps during the day or drink coffee throughout the course of the day just to keep them awake. Time zones are put in place for a reason, so that we can gain the amount of sunlight and sleep that is needed to keep us healthy. Personally, I did not realize how important time zones can be and why they were set in place. I did not think that a mere hour would affect so many people. In class we have discussed maps and how they are an important tool to geographers. Certain places on the maps fall under different time zones, which have been thought out to help the people, and the places should stick to them. There are boundaries that show which area is in which time zone. Spain is in the Central European time, which would put it in correspondence to the Serbian capital Belgrade. Instead, Spain should be in the time zone Greenwich Mean Time, which would keep it in harmony with the UK, Portugal, and
