Some books may be offensive to someone, but that same book can be someone’s history or past heritage. Most people might read a book and think it is offensive to them and they might want to remove it from the library without even thinking about what that book might mean to someone else. A rap song can be offensive to someone because it says the n-word too many times and also that same song can be talking about black history and how black people used to live and their history. Also, the same thing can go to a book with the n-word. Furthermore, it is not only the n-word that might be offensive to someone, it can also be the b-word or even other racist words. There have been games, songs, and books banned because it has violent or goes against the country. Games like “Thrill Kill,” “Garena Free Fire,” and “Death Race” have all been banned because of the violence it has in it. These should not be banned because most types of games are used for entertainment. They should not be banned so people can entertain themselves, and if someone thinks it is too violent for their kids they should not let their kids play with them, but this should not affect other people. Songs like “Justify My Love” by Madonna were banned so people can not hear them. This song was banned because of want it talks about, but all it talks about is Madonna and what she wants to do with her love life. There is nothing bad about talking about what someone wants to do with their love life. A novel called “The Lawn Boy” by Jonathan Evison was banned because some parents labeled the book pedophilic. This was banned because the parents did not like some parts of the novel and if these parents did not like the book they should not let their kids read it, and this should not affect other kids.
