Why The Civil War Began Essay

This war was fought between the northern states and the southern states. The problem was that the northern states were being control by the southern states and they did not like that at all. Many of the southern state decided that they were going to separate from their own country named the confederacy. On the other hand the northern states wanted to stay together as one united country, this is why the American civil war began. The major event that lead to this war lasted for like about five years started in 1860 to 1865. Some of the event before the war were the Harpers Ferry raid in 1859 which an abolitionist john brown wanted to start a slave rebellion by taking the harper ferry arsenal, but at the end he was hanged for treason.
