One positive attribute that came from Industrialization was that it provided better financial opportunities. Masses of different types of mills and factories started to show up like Flax Mills and Cotton Factories. These factories had many demands such as workers. Most of them had bad effects such as health conditions, but there were many other factories, such as the textile factory in Document 3 where it was stated that “Soon the production of exports outpaced the import of goods” (Document 3). This made most companies in England very wealthy compared to other countries like France because they could sell more than they bought.
Although the industrial revolution had positive impacts such as helping the economy, it led many places to illiteracy, loss of life, and an increase in crime rate. There were many great effects of the Industrial Revolution, which helped Great Britain's economy grow more efficiently. Firstly, Great Britain was the first country to industrialize, meaning they had cheaper goods which other countries at the time were in need of leading Great Britain to mass trading. Secondly, when they made factories, they required people to work in these factories, leading to growth in the employment rate. Lastly, document 4 states that industrialization made “not only travel at less expense but travels ten times quicker than two hundred years ago”.
As explained in “Document 3”, the working class in England greatly expanded as many people migrated from rural areas seeking job opportunities and higher wages in urban centres. The increase in available workers was vital to England’s industrialisation, as it enabled factories to operate at a higher capacity, further producing more goods. Not to mention, the mass migration encouraged the development of industrial cities. Moreover, the worker’s innovative approach to production was a crucial aspect of industrialization, “I have seen a small manufacturer of this kind where ten men only were employed, and where some of them performed two or three distinct operations. They could.make among them.upwards of 48,000 pins in a day.”
The Industrial Revolution, which occurred between around 1760 and 1820-1840, was a period of transition from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, and the use of water and steam power. It led to unprecedented population growth and a rise in average income and population[2]. The growth of industries and factories in Great Britain led to urbanization, overcrowding, and poor living conditions in industrial towns[7]. In the short term, the poor living conditions in industrial towns led to the spread of diseases and illnesses[8]. However, the British government passed several laws and regulations aimed at improving the lives of people living in industrial towns.

The effects of industrialization on British society between 1750-1900 had great outcomes but had to pay a heavy price. Industrialization impacts hits the most to all empires and is a transition from human hand labor to machinery use. It all started when an inventor got the idea to use the water wheel to generate power and led to other innovations such as the spinning wheel to be used in textile factories. One example of an innovation, key to the industrizliaion is the steam engine. Steam engines were important because they powered ships so instead of the wind, they would use these steam engines and they made transportation and shipping much more efficient.
The industrialization of Great Britain led the world to modern technology because of all of their ample amount of natural resources and political stability. With multiple entrepreneurs looking for new factories and capital to invest in those factories, they continued to show the world they were the leaders in urbanization at that time. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because of modernized machines, it was actually a negative thing for society. Industrialization’s negative effects were child labor, separated families, and bad quality of life.
In the 18th to 19th century in Europe, the agricultural revolution made farming more efficient which allowed more people to get fed with less labor, which led to a massive population growth. With a much bigger and healthier population and new technologies and resources to take part, new factories emerged ran by capitalists and entrepreneurs. This in turn called for new ways of organizing human labor to maximize the benefits and profits from the new machines. Industrialization started during the Gilded Age, the Gilded Age was a time of massive amounts of wealth for the politicians, they mostly were corrupt and ineffective, and many of these people were John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford and many others. These people were called robber barons; they had lots of money by having too much control in the US. Rockefeller owned the Standard Oil Company; he had 90% control of the world. Andrew Carnegie in document 18-4 states, “The problem of our age is the proper administration of wealth…poor and restricted are our opportunities in this life.” Carnegie demonstrates that most of the people living in this age were having bad conditions of life.
