Franklin Delano Roosevelt is famous because he was the 32nd president. He was born in 1882 in Hyde Park, NY. His parents were James Roosevelt and Sara Roosevelt. He was an only child, so his family was extra supportive of him. At age 14 Franklin attended Groton School. Growing up, he admired his 5th cousin Theodore Roosevelt. Another point is that he was the longest serving president in U.S. history. You have to be a really good leader in order to be elected as president four times and serve 12 years (he died soon after he was elected for his fourth term). He had an affair with his wife’s secretary. When Eleanor found out about it she threatened to leave him. Franklin’s mom then said that she would support Eleanor financially if she stayed in the marriage. Even though he did some bad things I still think that he was a good leader.
