Black History Month is an amazing month. It 's a month where incredible things have happened, many great people have done incredible things in this month. Black History month is based of many people, my favorite is Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a great man and he did many great things until unfortunately on April 4,1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was fatally shot and killed by a white racist man James Earl Ray was sentenced into 99 years in prison. James escaped prison and then was soon recaptured and added one more year to total of 100 years in prison.
Martin Luther King Jr, a remarkable American activist, has made his way into the hearts of thousands of individuals. Dr.King is widely known for his earth shattering “I have a dream” speech that he delivered over 40 years ago, in 1963. The speech made its first appearance during the March On Washington, one of the largest political rallies in American history that tackled various issues regarding civil rights for African Americans. Dr. King uses numerous persuasion techniques within his speech to enthrall his audience within his will to change the devastating realities African Americans must survive through. Humans need to hear things a number of times before they really become glued into their minds.
Americanism can be defined in many different ways. In Theodore Roosevelt’s speech, “True Americanism”, he portrays his idea of what Americanism means. Throughout his speech, Roosevelt uses rhetorical strategies to persuade people to unite regardless of a person’s race or religious beliefs to create a strong, powerful country. Roosevelt uses appeal to identity to create the appeal of pathos.

He was one of the most prominent leaders in the civil rights movement. King advanced civil rights for people of color in the United States through nonviolent ways. He led targeted, nonviolent resistance against Jim Crow laws and other forms of discrimination.
As Mr. Name walks around the warehouse floor he gives the impression of being standoffish and indifferent in our wellbeing. During these frequent strolls he doesn’t attempt to engage us in basic conversation, which we could take as an effect to get to know us. From his mannerisms we get the impression that he believes we are inferior to him. In the pass year as the military was given 59 minutes for all major federal holidays we were given only one i.e. for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Presidents day and Martin Luther King Birthday we did not receive a 59 minutes, however the base commanding officer and the president had authorizes them.

For many reasons Martin Luther King Jr. was a person who was important to Civil Rights due to a speech and a legacy. Martin Luther King Jr. was important to history and Civil Rights, because his goal was for everyone, including his own children to live in a nation where they’re not judged by color, but instead of the content of their character. The first piece of evidence is when Martin Luther King Jr. says “one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Sites Atlanta, the heart of Georgia is where it began for Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, at the home of his maternal grandparents. There on Auburn Avenue you will find the memorials of this great man, the home where he was born and raised, his father’s church, his burial site, and museum. Martin Luther King Jr. had a great heritage, good education, gave the famous speech, "I Have a Dream", Nobel Peace Prize, led civil rights movement, Montgomery Bus Boycott, all with nonviolence as he also studied with Gandhi. It is so sad with all his accomplishments he had to end his life by being assassinated in 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.
January 15, 2017, on this day in history the country celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. For many people, this day is a day off from work or school, but to many, it is not. Martin Luther King Jr impacted society by finding solutions to civil problems by his tactics of nonviolent protests and persuading speeches.
That holiday represents what he did to support what he believed in if he did not go through with what he did to fight for his people we would still have black schools and white schools. I think MLK Jr was the most powerful leader in this time if went up to someone and asked them who do you think of when you think of civil rights, they would answer MLK Jr 95% of the time. Dr.King a Great Leader When you think of a good leader you think of someone who can influence and lead people. Good leaders do the right things for the people their leading and fight for whats right. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. is a good leader because he fought for equal rights, he was a educated pastor, and he lead a movement that left behind a legacy that will be remembered forever. He played a very big role in ending segregation of African Americans in the U.S.(Biography, 2018).
Economic prosperity, new technological experiences, and cultural transformations in American society consumed the decade of the 1920s. The 1920s was an era of modern change for America politically, culturally, and socially. Buying items on credit was used for the first time, technology was improving, and American society was growing with a new self-confidence. The economy was booming with a new confidence it had never experienced before. As a matter of fact, the 1920s is known as "The Roaring Twenties" or "The Jazz Age" because it is was considered a decade long party filled with wealth, parties, and music.
The reason why I choose Martin Luther King Jr. as a leader is because he changed segregation. He wanted each of us to be equal and not be segregated. He wanted us to come together as one not as enemies but as friends/family. He just wanted us to change our ways of segregation and become equal with each other. If he can change a lot of people about segregation than he is a great leader to me.
Do you know why Martin Luther King Jr has his own day? One reason he has his own day is because he lead the biggest Civil Rights marrch in America, which is known as The March on Washington. This march had more than two hundred thousand people trying to end segregation. Martin Luther King Jr is one of the most known people in America because, he tried to end segregation and after having many peaceful protest he finally ended segregation. Martin Luther King Jr made a famous speech that is known as the "I have a Dream" speech.
My hero is Martin Luther King. He was born on January 15,1929 and he was assassinated on April 4, 1968. He dealt with segregation and tried to put it to an end. He made speeches, did marches, and got arrested for civil rights. He did it all peacefully.
