Only a Fool Would Put His Lips at the Other End of a Burning Fire In two thousand twelve, nine hundred sixty-seven million people smoked every day. This number has increased significantly since the nineteen eighties. This means more and more people are throwing away their money buying multiple packs of cigarettes, becoming sick from constantly putting bad chemicals in their bodies, and are decreasing their productivity. People shouldn’t smoke - in any way, it can be very bad for them in the future. First off, smoking may seem fun because all the popular kids are doing it. This doesn’t mean anyone should join in. For instance, studies show that ninety-nine percent of people who smoke started before age twenty six. Of those people eighty-eight percent started smoking before age eighteen. This is important because kids and teens are more vulnerable to become addicted at a young age. The children can’t help themselves, they don’t know any better. For a while everything is fine, but then they start to experience a sharp pain in their chest that doesn’t seem to go away, and makes it hard to breathe.
