This quote was sang in a song from the musical Wicked by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth. The song it is from is called Defying Gravity, It is all about flying against convention and finding your own way, even when you're told you can't, which is also the meaning of the quote from this song. I feel this quote is very good advice to pretty much anyone because it encourages people to express themselves and do what they want to do. People always telling her she was never good enough and her being determined to prove them wrong is how she relates to the quote. “I’m very dedicated. when people always gave me a lot of hate i always went my own way.” She was always told she was not good enough and she would never be good enough to be famous or to go to a good college for music but she is now at an amazing school for music proving them wrong. Instead of ending her talent in high school, she continued it in college, which is how she lives by the quote today. “Going to school for music is very tough, people are always going to set limits for me, i work hard everyday trying to step outside of those limits.” In the music industry people always expect certain things from certain people and are going to set limits for those certain people and everyday she wowed them with something bigger to step outside of those limits and raise their expectations for her.
