Lord of the Flies, a fictional novel by William Golding, describes a story that takes place near the beginning of World War II. Where a group of British schoolboys have been forced to evacuate from Britain because of the war. Their plane was soon shot down and they all crash landed on a small piece of land. No adults survive, only about 20 boys, from the age of about 6 to a little more than 12. The story begins with a 12 year old boy by the name Ralph (the main protagonist of the book), with fine blond hair, discovers a very short and very fat boy with Harry Potter glasses. Jack was able to the kill a pig, but, he was so distracted while hunting, he forgot to keep the signal fire going. As ironic as it is, a ship passed by just as the fire went out. Ralph is enraged and calls an assembly to straight out the responsibilities that had to be taken on the island. He notes that the fire is the most important thing on the island and that if the fire went out that there would be almost no hope of being recused. Unless some ship was to just randomly appear for no apparent reason. Ralph then noticed that everyone was frightened and opens a debate on why everyone was so afraid. Jack states that everyone was just a bunch of “sisies” but piggy says that everyone was afraid of each other. Then one of the littleuns says that he thought the beast came from the water and scares everyone. Two of the littleuns by the name of Sam and Eric, identical twins, are keeping watch of the fire for the night. You would expect for them to take shifts where one would sleep and one would watch the fire. They didn’t, and ended up both falling asleep. All of a sudden an air battle takes place above them and a dead body falls from one of the airplanes with a parachute. Sam and Eric, thinking it’s the beast, run down the mountaintop and warn the others. Which frightened them all even
