Wisdom In Egyptian's Instructions Of Amenopet

People everywhere throughout time have searched for wisdom. We can see this in the Egyptian’s Instructions of Amenopet, as well as in the book of Proverbs. Both of these literary works contain wise ideas by which to live. Although they were written for two different cultures, both of these pieces contain similar advice written in stanzas. Both texts warn against greed and befriending ill-tempered people. Another similarity is that they encourage being kind to those who have less and being cautious in speech and action. The Instructions of Amenopet contains more literary devices such as metaphors and similes whereas Proverbs is more repetitive in expressing ideas. Both texts are written in stanzas, but Proverbs has smaller segments of wisdom
