Women should be allowed in ground combat.

“We should remember that the military has long prided itself. Those who served are not judged based on who they are or where they come from, or their gender, but rather what they have to offer to help defend our country. Because of this we have the greatest fighting force that the world has ever known. The services will strive to ensure that this remains for long in the future, Allowing women into the Close combat positions would allow yet another step towards excellence” (Carter). What should women do in combat? Women in ground combat will do just as the men do, fight. How does allowing women in military combat affect society? It impacts society as creating an equal. Women should be allowed in combat because it increases opportunity, diversity and equality.

All women are equal. Initially, allowing women into ground comabt shows that women are capable of fighting equally beside their male counterparts, showing that women are equal to men. With allowing women into ground combat it also creates a sense of equality because of the air force jobs. “Almost one percent of the jobs in the air force are open to females, and nineteen percent of active duty “airmen” are women. Ultimately, women should be allowed to be in ground combat. “In particular, Critics remain concerned that women are usually smaller and weaker than men, and that the government may force service branches to lower the standard for women, witht this it would jepordize the units effectiveness, cohesion, and readiness” (Manely). With allowing women into ground combat it will stir up the critics with the concern that women are smaller and weaker, but this is why women train as long and hard as men do. They are also concerned that the government may change or even lower the standard to allow women into ground combat, that is not the case women are being trained the exact same way as the men
