The Fight For Women’s Rights Isn’t Over From the 72 year long pursuit of women gaining the right to vote in the 1920’s to the 1960’s equal pay act, and even Sally Ride to literally reaching for the stars as the first woman in space, women’s efforts have lead towards various victories. Rosie the Riveter, an icon that represents all the women that filled the industrial workforce gap during World War II, manifested into a cultural icon of women’s strength and ability rise to any task women put their minds to. Just by looking around and paying attention ladies and fellow gentlemen can surely notice the circumstances. Of course, no one wants to spend any unnecessary time on such a negative topic, but ignoring it does not deem it solved. In this day and age, there exist countless of progressions;however, it remains crucial to not settle for almost equal rather than truly equal. Today, soon, or better yet now stands as the right time to change. Address ladies with more respect, be fair and objective when hiring or promoting,and encourage a positive body image. Countless people unconsciously disrespect women. For example, some men call grown women “girl” when at their age no one calls them “boys.” As if saying that women do not have the same maturity level. To change and obtain equal rights for both genders, people need to change themselves. Everyone has a mother, sister, daughter,or wife and women’s rights affects them.
