There were two major events that took place that sent the United States into WWI. Before these events took place, America wanted to stay neutral with thoughts and action. On May 7, 1915, a German submarine, called U-boats, torpedoed and sank a British passenger liner Lusitania. About 1,198 lives were lost including 128 Americans. Many Americans were shocked and anger about this act and called it “mass murder and piracy”(671).
According to an encyclopedia source,by 1919,”the need for a planned system of national highways became discernible with the proliferating common use of cars in the United States”(Source #4).In addition, another source claims that “more than 90 percent of the nation’s households have access to automobiles”(Source #7).As directly indicated by these two sources,automoibles weren’t a luxury,but rather they were true necessities for many. While cars were being produced between 1908 and 1927,specifically that of Henry Ford’s Model T,many people now wanted to travel however needed an effective system that would be able to save them much more time. As a result,these very crucial interstate highways have ultimately expanded
The end of World War I was difficult for everyone. Debt, unemployment, shortages, etc. plagued the United States. The 1920s, or Roaring Twenties, brought a lot of good economic, political, and social changes. Plenty of major changes took place in society during this time.
Before the Holocaust the Jewish parents knew that something bad was going to happen, what would really happen to the Jewish children? So they decided to let their children go to a new land to stay safe and live a happy life. The parents wanted to protect kids from the Nazis that were taking over Europe. In the story it states that, "Many people were very worried about the children, especially Jewish children, who were living in Nazi-occupied countries.” In the story, “The Transport that Changed History “ by Kenneth Monroe, It shows how the Jewish in Germany people want their children to be from the Nazi and thats people the made the Kinder transport.

The use of air power as a strategy of war was highly contingent on the development of technology and became more and more significant to wars as technology developed. When compared to World War I, the second world war saw an improvement of technological capacities, leading to an enhanced production of aerial power along with the emergence of new tactics and strategies of war.

The war upset the populus, specifically college students, as they were being drafted and sent to a war they did not want to participate. Some white citizens were upset about the idea of integrating blacks into society, which also led to White flight during this time.
The pony express was 2 times faster than its competitors. They used horses to take people places. There was a weight limit for all riders if people passed that weight limit they weren 't allowed aloud to ride. Ordinary people didn 't really use the pony express. It cost 5 dollars and a ounce to use the pony express.

The world before the first world war was a very different place. The automobile existed. Few people, however, owned one. As a result street traffic had many horses and buggies. The most common means of transportation was the bicycle.
The building of roads, canals and railroads played a large role in the United States during the 1800s. They served the purpose of connecting towns and settlements so that goods could be transported quickly and more efficiently. These goods could be transported fast, cheap and in safe way through the Erie Canal that was built to connect the Great Lakes to New York. Railroads were important during Civil War as well, because it helped in the transportation of goods, supplies and weapons when necessary. These new forms of transportation shaped the United States into the place that it is today.
Transportation vastly improved in the early 1800s. As production increased, people needed faster and easier ways to transport their product. In the early 1800s, the steam locomotive was a huge advancement. “In the early 1800s, pioneers like George Stephenson developed steam-powered locomotives to pull carriages along iron rails” (202). This was a big advancement because a railroad track did not have to follow a river.
