Would being a Carpenter or an Architect be better than going to college for a pointless degree? I would want a job where I could work with my hands. Both a carpenter and an architect are jobs that I would enjoy because of the salary, education/training, and location.
Firstly, I am going to compare the salary of being an architect and a carpenter. As a carpenter the entry level salary is $31,880, and the senior level salary is $80,940 (“Carpenters”). The level of money is limitless, because you can own your own business. As an architect you can expect to make $48,930 right out of college, and around $129,980 as a senior architect (“Architect”). Even if you would make less as a carpenter; you would spend less as a carpenter, because you wouldn’t have to pay for tuition. As an architect you would have to spend between $50,000-$150,000 for a bachelor's degree (“Architect”). Instead of going to college; right out of high school you can make money, and not lose it. In the long run an architect would make more money than a carpenter.

As a carpenter you only need a high school diploma, and you would want to apply yourself into an apprenticeship. (“Carpenters”). As an architect you need a bachelor's degree and an internship/residency to get hired (“Architect”). The benefits of being a carpenter, all you would need to do is graduate high school, and apply yourself to an apprenticeship. As an architect you have four years of college and an internship to get a job. While being a carpenter you could expect to get a job faster as a carpenter, rather than being an
