Would Aristotle consider someone hooked into the experience machine truly happy? Explain why or why not.
After reading the text, I truly don’t think Aristotle would consider someone hooked to a machine happy. He speaks as though “Happy” has its on purpose. He emphasizes on happiness as if it is a character with its on characteristics. Being able to be happy I think one must first understand the definition of it and then engage into it with stages of growth. Example, take a couple who has been together in a marriage for about 20 years, and all of a sudden you are hearing about them getting a divorce. You would think they would seriously be in love to stay together that long.

If I was hooked up to a machine permanently for experiment I would want the experiment to be about enhancement of the mind. I love to be creative when I am writing. When I meditate maybe the machine can help my thoughts grow into maturity to leave footprints in society. The foot prints would represent growth, stimulation, prosperity, and virtue accomplishments. what your choice says about what ultimately matters in human life, the difference (if you think there is one) between feeling happy and actually being happy, and so on.
