I cherish art. Something about it says one million words in just a glance and another million if you take the time to appreciate it. Art to me is a way to share one's emotion and draw out the real occurrences of a person's life. You can create it on a wall or tree or a person and if that doesn't speak to you then make it from your heart. Art has also been used for not only expression, but for stories that record our history. Great kings and ancient tribes spent their highest riches to have pieces made and depictions of great battles won. I laugh when people think art is only a canvas and paint because just in our history alone the collection of pieces that make up museum's vast majority don’t require paint at all. Most of them weren't even meant to be artwork, but rather a way to mark a significance in that time period. For example you have the nose rings of the ancient Egyptians, religious relics of the african healers, feather cape tunics of tamati waka nene and my most interest, the Aztecs bloodletting pieces that record like a calendar in surrounding museums. …show more content…
