For 120 years and possibly longer, the dolphins of Laguna have been helping local fishermen with their daily catch. The dolphins herds groups of mullets into the shallow water on the shoreline. The catches are very rare. Some names of the dolphins were Scooby, Felipe, Coroba, and more.
The biggest dolphin hunts sea lions, squids, fish, seabirds, turtles, sharks, and larger whales. They call them Orcas. Their nicknames are Wolves of the sea. The dolphin is 32 feet long, as long as a school bus. Adult orcas weigh about 11 ton. They swim at the speed of 35 mph to be able to catch the little fish that swim fast. Some orcas swim in groups called pods.

To communicate the dolphins send sound waves through the ocean and listen to the echo. The dolphin has a special ability called biosonar. They send clicking sounds through their forehead. The dolphin send out thousands of clicks per second. The animal’s brain creates a picture of what it sees in the distance. The dolphin can determine the size, shape, density, speed, and identity. The U.S. Marine Mammal Program uses the help of dolphins to locate buried
