Joshua 6: 12-16
“You can shout now; the Battle is over”
There are times in our lives when we have to face some battles we think we cannot win. When such occurs God by his Spirit gives you the victory.
In Joshua the 6th chapter God gave the city of Jericho into the hands of Israel. Joshua and the people of Israel set out from Shittim in Chapter 3 of Joshua before they cross the Jordan River. Shittim was a place in the land of Moab where they had rested from their victories over the cities of Sihon and OG and the Ark of the Lord was with them. You know the story-the two spies met the
Harlot Rahab who hid them from the King who sought to kill them. Rahab went to the two men and told them she knew the Lord had given them the land and all the people were afraid of them (Joshua 2: 8-11). The people hearts melt. They recognized the faith the men had in God. Rehab and all of her family was saved because she was given instructions on what to do for this to be accomplished. You can find this in Joshua 2: 18-21.
Who was Joshua? Joshua was the son of Nun and the tribe of Ephraim. Joshua’s name means savior, a deliverer, or whose help is Jehovah. Once we have done this we can have victory over our circumstances for our God is greater than our circumstances and he will deliver us from our enemies. We can shout unto the Lord with the voice of triumphant.
Patience and endurance are the same thing and we must trust the word of God that has been given us. Good soldiers keep fighting when they are wounded. Do not let the hardship of your season keep you from trusting in God. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
We can lift our voices in praise and walls will come down that try to hinder us. For we know by the spirit of God strong holds will come down. In 2nd Chronicles 20:15 when all of Judah, Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat were facing a battle the Lord told them do not worry the battle was not theirs but his. God has our backs in the battles we face in our lives today... God has already given you the
