“You’ll shoot your eye out, kid. (“Quotes”)” is a well-known quote from The Christmas Story which is older classic holiday movie. The Christmas Story was released on 18 November 1983 and the director was Bob Clark. The gift of Ralphs dreams was getting a genuine Red Ryder two hundred shot carbine action air rifle for Christmas. He believed that he would find the perfect way to ask for one of those air rifles for Christmas. It’s the Christmas season and all Ralph wants for Christmas is an air rifle. He tries to plot the perfect plan to hint to his mother so she would get him one. Ralph was overjoyed that he had another shot, and hoping that his teacher would sympathize with his mother about it. Ralph had only gotten a c after writing what he thought to be the perfect paper. “you’ll shoot your eye out!” Ralph’s teacher had written across his paper. Beginning to think that his teacher and mother were both plotting against him and his will to get a Red Ryder air rifle for Christmas. The next opportunity came when he went to see Santa Claus. After enduring an endless line at the mall, Ralph had finally made it to the front of the line. He was next, nervous, Ralph had forgotten what to say and his turn was over. “Wait!” Ralph yelled as he climbed back up the slide to where Santa was, Ralph told him what it was he wanted for Christmas. “you’ll shoot your eye out, kid, (“Quotes”)” Santa Claus replied to Ralph as he was washed down the slide in disappointment.
