Ms. Carlene Martinez was promoted to a GAIN Services Worker position effective 09/16/2017. She was assigned to the Southwest Family CalWORKs District, Homeless Case Management Program as a Homeless Case Manager (HCM) under the supervision of the rater. As a HCM, Ms. Martinez for responsible for accessing the needs of the CalWORKs homeless and at-risk families in securing permanent/ or stable housing and facilitating access to services to meet their needs.
The main challenge facing CAMBA’s Park Slope Women MICA shelter is the lack of capacity to adequately provide for these women and their families the necessary resources that will see them integrate into the community. They are unable to fully meet the heights their mission sets for them because there is always a chance of relapse or noncompliance. Therefore, further interventions are needed to support the general well-being of the society. Further, CAMBA’s Park Slope Women MICA shelter meets the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds. They face the challenge of meeting culturally sensitive needs.
Aeshia was a student at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York until fall 2003 when she had to move out due to the fact that her child’s father became physically abuse. Aeshia life became very tough, she had to sleep on beaches she took her son with her both of them stayed at an EAU. It became difficult when she had to wake up early in the morning and leave her children with her girlfriend. Her way getting to school was by riding the train, waking up early in the morning to get to Brooklyn. Adriana, Aeshia, Asad and Johnny were homeless college students.
Susan G. Komen (SGK) is one of the most influential non-profit organizations in terms of its effort in championing their cause. We have been given the task to help rebuild their image, and offer our recommendations on how to regain public trust and support. After the defunding of Planned Parenthood (PP) and its mismanagement of dissemination of information and response, the question that strikes us was why Planned Parenthood responded to the news and actions of SGK negatively. Atlantic Times staff writer, Alana Semuels, gives her opinion on how America can reduce the number of homeless famlies in her article “The Best Way to End Homelessness”. According to Alana Semuels, America has the largest number of homeless women and children in the industrial world. (Cite) She mentions how the government has attempted to solve homelessness by initiating many different studies and programs. " The Best Way to End Homelessness " lists initiatives such as housing choice vouchers, temporary rental assistance, time limited housing, or interventions.
What issues prompted Frontier hotel and restaurant workers to take strike action? Many questions prompted employees at the Frontier Hotel to take action by striking. When watching this documentary for the first time, I did not realize how long these workers were on strike. One word to describe the owners of these hotels is "savages". They started to fire individuals for no apparent reason because the owners wanted to cut back.

When reading both the Combahee River Collective and Work, Immigration, and Labor, I noticed how both display the struggles of women of color from two different communities and their efforts against oppression. The Combahee River Collective is a statement released by a group of black feminists, they viewed black feminism as a political movement that can combat the oppression that all women of color face. The black feminism movement gained traction as a part of the black liberation movements of the 1960s and 70s. The Homeless Need More Than A Blue Room In "Homeless" by Anna Quindlen, she writes that she meets a homeless woman, Ann, who claims she's not homeless because she has a photo of a yellow house. Quindlen understands what Ann is trying to tell her because Quindlen feels that a home is a unique place that can't be replaced by a shelter. Unfortunately, Quindlen concludes, our sense of home has changed significantly, but people like Ann remind us that the homeless, more than being a group of poor people without homes, are people who are rootless. Homelessness Homeless people are widely known in the United States, as much as in any other parts in the world, where it is also a common issue. The issue is so common that when people drive or even walk through the streets they see many homeless people with no roof, and no food. People often see other people like this no matter where they are at, giving them the thought of what if they were the ones going through that. Most of the time when they view stuff like this it leads them to having a feeling of sorrow.
