The well known conspiracy film Zeitgeist was released in 2007 and directed by Peter Joseph. Throughout the movie, multiple controversial topics are discussed. The movie is divided into three individual parts, the first being the origin of Christianity and Judaism, how 9/11 occurred and about our world’s economy today and in the future. The first conspiracy about the origin of Christianity and Judaism really stood out to me. There was a countless range of supporting details they had towards their argument of Christianity and Judaism having the same roots and mythological stories as other religions.

This quote remains constant throughout and is supported in many ways. For example, one of the ‘Gods’ from another religion that Jesus is compared to is Horus. Horus is from Egyptian culture and first arose in 3000 bc. Just like Jesus Christ, Horus was born on December 25th, born of a virgin, adored by 3 Kings, was accompanied by a star in the east, became a teacher at 12, baptized and became preaching at age 30, had 12 disciples, performed miracles such as healing the sick and walking on water, was betrayed, crucified, died and resurrected after 3 days (Zeitgeist). Horus also goes by the names “Lamb of God,” and “The Light” (Zeitgeist). More comparisons similar to the one made between Horus and Jesus were featured in the film to really emphasize how similar all these religious figures are. Since Peter Joseph has many convincing arguments, It can be easy to just believe whatever you hear. By conducting background research, it's been discovered that there is no proof that Horus was crucified, born of a virgin or had 12 apostles.
