In the Zephyrhills Community there are currently eight parks. All but one, has playground equipment for early childhood, which is up to the age of five. The playground that has the equipment for the younger children is outdated and needs to be restored. As you can see, this is a problem for the community. Especially, for parents, and any caregiver of a child who wishes to take the children out to blow off some steam. It is extremely important to teach children young to play outdoors and for them to learn all that comes along with it, so they can grow into a healthy young being. But how do you think they learned it? All of this is learned at a very young age. One of the places it is picked up is at the playground, no less. People who enjoy being outdoors were more than likely encouraged to play outside by their parents when they were young. It is the parent’s job to teach these things and it helps build the child into a well-rounded adult someday. The petition will be ongoing until something is done. There is enough time to get results from this since the process of Zephyr Park getting a makeover is going to take at least two to three years. The petition is going to be on http://Change.org. This website is easy to access, maneuver, and is proven to get results. Geron from Forbes Magazine tells us, “Change.org is best known for helping Trayvon Martin’s parents get the man who shot him arrested, ending Bank of America’s $5 monthly checking account fees and helping Bettina Seigel get the U.S Department of Agriculture to ban “pink slime” from school lunches.” (Geron, The Business Behind Change.org’s Activist Petitions) As you can see, the site has made a pretty big impact on large issues that today’s society has been faced
