Which was informed consent, do not harm, avoid deception, and protect respondents’ privacy and responsibility to the scientific community. With the Stanford Experiment he did do all of this Voluntary and informed them of what was happening. He stated this all in the consent forms and showed them what they were getting involved in. Then when he broke them into special groups to have the guards and the prisoners which at the time the guards were part of the 24 put into the experiment. Then another type was harm. In the Stanford Experiment Zimbardo did violate this. Because you have to inform the autonomous person of the nature of risk, and that their might be minimal risk. In this case however when the inmates were getting out of hand the guards were getting a little too rough with them causing harm on them. Another type is deception because if you use deception you have to let them know about harm or debrief. You also have to clarify what is going on. This is in the video of Milgrim’s Obedience to Authority. Because what was happening was a student was asking a question to a person behind another wall. If the person behind the wall missed the question he or she would be shocked. The questions however would keep going on, and the student who asked the question did not realize that there was an experimenter watching them. Because as the question kept on rolling through the shock pain would increase higher. Students asking the question however demand at times to stop this. Because they believed he or she was causing too much pain to the person behind the wall. This is why Milgrim’s Obedience to Authority was a violation of deception. The last rule was privacy. This was two options Anonymity and Confidentiality. This meant between the Stanford Prison Experiment and the Milgrim’s Obedience to Authority. That procedures must be taken in order to keep people’s record and personal information
